For a child to be considered eligible for receiving the sacraments of first confession and holy Eucharist, we require that he or she complete a two year process. The Requirements for each year are as followings:

Eucharist 1  (Year 1) 

1) Child must be enrolled in Faith Formation classes at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

2) Child must read and complete ALL weekly assigned chapters and workbook pages in his or her Faith Formation class though out the year; books are checked quarterly.

3) He or she MUST attend, with the family, ALL six Family Prayer Nights and both Family Nights.

Eucharist 2  (Year 2)

1) Child must be enrolled in Faith Formation classes at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

2) Child must read and complete ALL weekly assigned chapters and workbook pages in his or her Faith Formation class though out the year; books are checked quarterly.

3) He or she MUST attend, with the family, ALL six Family Prayer Nights and both Family Nights.

4) E2 students, in addition to the weekly assignments posted above, will read, The King of the Golden City (KGC), complete the study guide questions, and turn in completed assignments to the catechist during class on the scheduled dates.

5) Each child will be interviewed on four basic prayers: 1) Our Father, 2) Hail Mary, 3) Glory Be, & 4) Act of Contrition.  Interviews begin toward the middle of the Faith Formation year.

6) At the conclusion of the Faith Formation year each child will be given a written test covering material from the entire year, to show he or she has enough knowledge of the sacrament and faith and is well prepared.
