BUILDING FUND
August 20, 2024
When we began planning for new construction on the parish campus in 2019, we developed a plan that included a Phase II Discipleship Center and a Phase III Parish Center (hall and offices). The Discipleship Center was completed in January of 2024 at a total cost of about $7 million. Thanks to those who have generously contributed to the Built on Rock Capital Campaign, the debt for construction of the Discipleship Center will be paid in full by the end of this year.
Costs of construction have increased dramatically since our 2019 planning meetings. We are in the process of obtaining an estimated cost for the Phase III Parish Center. However, we believe it is going to be prohibitively expensive. Our current hall and offices are in need of maintenance and repair. We are exploring various options ranging from minimal maintenance to significant renovation.
Starting November 1, 2024, any money donated to the OLMC building fund is designated to be spent as follows: (1) any repair or replacement of parish property in excess of $10 thousand; (2) any renovation of parish property; or (3) new construction. As we gather more information, we will present it to the parish and engage in a process of discerning the best path forward to ensure that our infrastructure maximally facilitates our parish mission.
