2022 High School Summer Programs

Hello Faith Formation Families!

As we wrap up a great year, I wanted to share some of the exciting programs we will have this summer to keep our teens engaged in their personal faith formation. Read below to see what is available and to sign up.

Career Assessment Program

June 5th, 6-7pm in Building A

OLMC Parishioner Frank Drdek, with a wealth of lifetime experience in leadership coaching and human relations, is offering complimentary career mentorship for OLMC teens this summer. We will have a meet and greet with Frank along with the opportunity to learn more about the program and sign up for mentorship on June 5 from 6-7pm in Building A.

The program will help teens:

• Assess whether College or Technical/Trade School is best for them.

• Assess what Majors/Courses would be best for the personalities, thinking styles and interests of teens.

• Zero in on those jobs that are best fit for them.

• Provide the best Industries “’FIT”’ for OLMC High School Students ( e.g. Manufacturing, Technology, Services, Financial, Consulting, Sales, Non-Profit, Government, Military, Security, etc.)

No sign up is necessary for the Career Assessment Program at this time, just show up to the meet and greet on June 5 to get plugged in to the program!

Theology of the Body Book Club

June 15, July 6, July 27 from 3-5pm in the Youth Room

C2 teens received a copy of Theology of the Body for beginners as their Confirmation gift. I am opening up a book club to all Confirmation program teens this summer to dive into these amazing teachings. Sign up for TOB book club here: https://forms.gle/c1g9W9rW5amDv3LYA

Steubenville San Diego Half Day Conference

New Faith Formation Year

My name is Kylie Armstrong and I am so excited to be a part of the OLMC staff as the new Director of Youth Discipleship. I will be leading faith formation for both the Middle School and High School programs this coming school year, and am looking forward to working with the amazing families at this parish.  

I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona, and moved to San Diego in January of 2020. I was raised Catholic, but did not fall in love with my faith until college where I was involved at the Newman Center at Northern Arizona University. Here I learned the importance of community, prayer, and the call to mission. After I graduated with a BA in Theatre in 2017, I became a campus missionary with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students and served at UC Santa Barbara. I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Divine Mercy University, and will be getting married this coming January. My passions in the Church include pro-life activism, St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, and music ministry.  

Registration for Faith Formation for the 2021-2022 is now open. Just go to the main page of the parish website (www.olmcsandiego.org) and click the Faith Formation Registration link. The High School Confirmation and Middle School Faith Formation programs will kick off the week after Labor Day. We will be updating the faith formation pages on the OLMC website over the next couple of weeks with information about summer activities and the upcoming year, so stay tuned!
