This Faith Formation/Youth Ministry position requires a friendly, caring and personable individual who is an engaged, fully initiated practicing Catholic in good standing and a registered parishioner.  This volunteer should be able to work well with teens.

Accountable to: Director of Youth Discipleship

Responsibilities: Support program operations by assisting with tasks such as attendance taking, passing out papers, serving food, helping setup up and run events or activities, and provide general support to the teens in the faith formation program. 

Time Commitment: One faith formation year consisting of- 1 support staff briefing meeting (Date pending) 12 Sundays (3 hours each, including 4:30pm Mass attendance), 2 retreats (All Teens September 19th from 1:00-8:00pm, C2 Teens April 30th, details pending).

Total Estimated Hours: 60 Hours  

Length of Commitment: Minimum of 1 year (August-May) 

Duties:

  1. Attend all High School Faith Formation classes and events, in addition to necessary meetings. This includes the 4:30pm Mass on Sunday’s when High School Faith Formation events are scheduled.

  2. Prepare to assist as needed during classes and events, and keep a vigilant eye out while providing support and supervising.

  3. Encourage teens to regularly participate in both Youth Ministry events and regular parish ministries.

Preferred Competencies/Experience

-Previous experience working with teenagers.
-Dependable, mature, responsible and ability to work alone with a group of teenagers
-Definite sense of service and giving; Embraces the concept of obedience versus convenience in service.
