Dear Holy Trinity School Community,
I am pleased to announce that Mrs. Tina Demarchi will become the next school principal. A committee including teachers, parents, the director of the Diocesan Office for Schools, Fr. Rey, and myself interviewed the three strongest applicants, and further inquiries were made. The result was an offer extended to Mrs. Demarchi which she accepted.
She will start working tens hours per week as she winds down her role in the tutoring business she founded and operates. She will be the full-time principal at the end of June. Over the next few weeks, she will primarily work on planning and helping to formulate a comprehensive vision for the school. We plan to arrange some opportunities for her to meet the parents and students before this school year ends.
Mrs. Demarchi is an educational entrepreneur and innovator. After graduating as valedictorian of her M.B.A. program at the University of San Diego, she went on to have a successful career in the corporate world, becoming the Senior Manager of Business Development at Musicmatch/Yahoo! Music.
She left that world behind for what she describes as the most difficult and rewarding work of her life, being a full-time mother to four children. While her children attended St. Therese Academy, she was very engaged in the school, serving as PTG Board Member for five years. She later became involved in an East County Catholic Homeschool Co-op, for which she taught first and second grade.
As her youngest daughter grew older, Mrs. Demarchi discerned a call to use her leadership and organizational experience to provide greater assistance to Catholic families in the education of their children. In August of 2021, she founded Almadayo Academic Services, a homeschool-focused tutoring company now serving over 85 students and their families. In her role as director, she has recruited, onboarded, supervised, and developed a team of 17 educator-tutors, managing schedules, performance, training, compensation, and contractor agreements.
She is an educational innovator. As part of her tutoring business, Mrs. Demarchi became familiar with various school curricula and learned how to adapt these to the individual learning styles and abilities of students. Observing shortcomings in existing curricula, she and her business partner developed original curricula in spelling and reading.
Over the past six weeks, I have done my best to understand the various aspects of the school's recent performance and the steps that should be taken to improve that performance. Mrs. Demarchi's skills and experience are a perfect match for what we need, and I am confident she will lead us to excellence.
Most importantly, Mrs. Demarchi is a committed Catholic, a missionary disciple of Jesus who understands how our faith informs and guides everything we do.
Below is a picture of Mrs. Demarchi with her husband Mariano and their four children. Be sure to give her a warm welcome when you meet her.
In Christ,
Fr. Anthony Saroki
